When we practice full body bow down prostrating in Buddhist practice. Some friends asked: how can we bow down to the “male” monk? How can we bow down to a statue? This is a feudal practice!!

After sometimes, I realized: to bow down is so important, alike we are able let go our self/ego. We are able to put ourselves below others. And, are able to confess our faults and say sorry to others.

Bow down is a skillful means that can train and remind us to abandon arrogance/self clinging/ego.
